Principal / Founder
Melanie Stepanicich is a licensed architect in California and Texas and the founder of Outbound Architecture, a full-service architecture and interiors studio working with clients across the U.S.
With over 12 years of experience, Melanie has worked on a wide range of project types, including custom homes, residential remodels, civic and educational buildings, small-scale commercial spaces, and interior renovations. Her background allows her to bring both creative design thinking and technical rigor to each project, from early concepts through permitting, consultant coordination, construction documents, and construction support.
Melanie studied architecture at the University of Washington in Seattle and earned her Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan.
Prior to founding Outbound Architecture, Melanie worked at notable design firms including Mark Cavagnero Associates and Ro Rockett Design, contributing to projects across residential, civic, educational, commercial, and interior work.
Inspired by travel, landscape, and the way people live in connection with their surroundings, Melanie’s work focuses on thoughtful spaces that feel warm, timeless, and grounded in place. Through Outbound Architecture, she helps clients turn early ideas into clear, buildable design solutions with a process that is collaborative, detailed, and approachable.
